Laurie C. Anderson: Laurie is Head and Professor of Geology and Geological Engineering, and Director and Curator of Invertebrates for the Museum of Geology, at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. The primary foci of her research are the paleobiology, paleoecology, taphonomy, and phylogeny of mollusks, particularly the Bivalvia. Her work combines field research in both modern and ancient settings, museum studies, and laboratory analyses. She served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Paleontology from 1998 to 2011, was a Paleontological Society Distinguished Lecturer 1998-2000, chaired the Student Grant-in-Aid Committee in 1999 and 2000, and served on the Paleontological Society Medal Committee for 2013-15.
